<sub>Am I? Am I really? No I'm not. Although I have plans for DeviantART in the coming month I will be saying goodbye to this place. It doesn't feel the same and things in real life are changing which I need to catch up with. I'm starting the second year of university, looking forward to that, and working all my other free days. It's because of this that I've found less and less time to do my art and even more so to come onto here and post/comment/discuss and whatever else you Deviants do.

My holiday was good for anyone who wants to know. It was very hot and I was quite tired most of the time. Going to bed at 4 or 5AM in the morning and waking up at 7/8AM does start to take its toll after a week or so.

Anyway like I said I have plans for being on DeviantART next month so look out on the first of October for what I mean. I'll post a journal entry all about it on that day. And thanks to everyone who posted they will miss me on my last journal post. I missed you all too!

Finaly, over the past month I've been working on deamonicangel.com deep within the dark corners of the internet and it's looking quite good. I've sorted out all the seperate sites I want on it and I'm just designing them up and putting some initial content on them. The site will be up completely in october sometime (I'll anounce more as the time comes) and you will be able to use that to contact me as it will be my hideout where I'm retreating too after DeviantART.
I'll be posting all my art work up there, sharing out tips and free things I've found around the internet to help people with their work. I'm sorting out my music site so it's easier for people to listen to my music. I'll also be blogging about music there when I find something I like... What else... Oh and the dream stories I've posted... I've decided not to take them and make them into stories but it's given me an idea to write stories in general. I will be blogging my thought process on each short or long story (depending how I feel) and will ask viewers their opinions before the final version is uploaded to the archive for people to read.

So I look forward to you reading my next journal more than this one. I might be leaving DeviantART soon but you wont be dissapointed.

<sub>Well I must let you all know I'm leaving DeviantART. I would like to point out this IS temporary and that I WILL RETURN in September. My reasons behind this are varied. For a start many of you may have noticed that I've not been producing much work recently and I've lost my way with my poems. I know I've been writing my dreams as stories but that was there just to fill the gap in my lack of creativity recently. To be honest I just don't feel like writing anymore and I just get stuck with drawing. The ideas are there but that's as far as it goes and I think taking some time off may help. Also I'm going away for a month at the end of July so I wont be on then anyway.

So this is just it to say after I finish writing this journal entry I will not be on untill I return. I have reviewed all my deviations/messages/notes that I could get to as it's just become overwhelming and I know that when I get back there will be thousands so I will say in advance that I will not be looking at any Deviations but will spare time if you think I would like to look at it.

Anyway let me leave you with a list of things to do while I'm gone and maybe you'll see me round these places before I go on holiday:</sub>

<sub>This journal post is mostly going to be about my music and most probably will be one of the last as I move my music away from DeviantART. Anyway after creating "Deamonic Angel Design Studio" I thought "That's a stupid name, sure I'm going to be part of it but it looks like I'm taking over". So Then came the suitable renaming to: StormGlade Design Studio, which to me sounds pretty cool.

Anyway my point is that "Deamonic Angel Entertainment" feels the same way...
I have a few more months before the domain runs out and I want to change it. I have come up with a list of names I quite like but I want some help from you guys (and girls).

<sub>Well I supposed I have to do a journal entry now. I know before I said I would try and get these out every Sunday but for the first two Sundays after my last journal I didn't realise I had forgotten untill the monday and thought there's not much point. Anyway a month later I feel like I should come out from under my rock and say something.

I'm not going to say too much but I've been finding things hard recently and just thought I'd take a few days away from DeviantART and whatever else. I haven't been looking at deviations much or replying quick like I usualy do and so my message center is a bit backed up right now. I don't think I should say sorry to anyone as it was my choice to dissapear for a few days but the only other thing is I want to say a special thanks to one person on here who makes me feel good about things and has listened to me. She knows who she is.

I'm not submitting art for a while. I've got enough to do. I am on the other hand working on wordpress themes for my sites. Most designs get deleted or saved to work on another day so when I upload them to my theme testing site I'll fork out any that look mildly appealing and put them up here. Portfolio
Well like I just said I'm running through themes for my sites and I've just completed (after all yesterday afternoon, last night and this morning) a theme for my portfolio website. YES I know it's not all that good. It's slightly too narrow for the images and there are some odd bits but give me some time on it! I'm doing my best for the time I've been given!

Design Studio
Ok I've decided to get this thing rolling this week, or at least start it this week. I'm going to freely advertise for people to come and help on the job board forum as I really want this thing to work. I will be looking for one or two people from each design background to be part of the design team. DeviantART Musicians Mixtape
The CD Cover contest is OFFICIALY OVER!! I will be noting all the judges after this journal with links to all the covers. The winner will be decided by the one with the most votes by the judges. If they all chose different then there will be a poll set out for a week for members of the mixtape to participate in. I think it's fair that if the judges don't come to an overall decision then the people who are submitting the music should get the chance to have a say in what it looks like.


Life
Dreams... Anyone a good dream analyser? I'm not going through all my dreams of late or in detail but I know a few of you want me too but I don't realy have time right now.

Anyway my first dream involved me wearing a rusty metal... thing, around my left wrist area. It went up my arm and over my hand but anyway. It cut through my wrist from the top and was held on floppy by a few centmeters of skin at the bottom. There was no bone on the inside but despite absolutely no connection to my body in anyway but the skin, I was able to move my fingers normaly. I was taken in by somebody claiming they could fix my wrist so I did what they said, putting my arm under some sort of heat sensor. Anyway to cut a long story short I felt pain when he turned it on, the only real pain I have ever felt in a dream. I've been shot, stabbed, hit by a car, in all my dreams but never felt real pain. The second machine he took me too was a drill no idea why but before we proceeded I woke up (thankfully, if I was getting hurt in that dream I wouldn't like to put my hand under a drill, even if it was ment to fix me).

Second dream, the night before last, it was a beach area, allot happened but it's getting fuzzy. The sea was coming up quite large and threatening to flood everything. A hole had been dug right allong the length of the beach to stop the flood waters effectively creating a barrier next to the sea, and giant hole to take in the water, and another barrier up against the land. Sorry if that's a bad mental image but I can't explain it any better. Long story short again, a bus drove by and fell in the hole and I watched all the passengers throught the bus window fall into the hole. <sub>Hello and welcome to my new style of journal. I know that reading a journal can be quite boring for some readers which is why I've come up with my own unique way of helping people to read my journal.

There will be seperate categorys such as "Art" or "Music" in normal bold type. Under each will be bold subcategories which will be in small bold type. With this simple system it should help my readers find exactly what they want to read and forget about the rest. I would still appreciate it if you read my whole journal. Lastly I would like to say my journal posts from now on will hopefuly be posted once a week on a Sunday.</sub>

Things on here are slowing down slightly with me moving more towards digital work rather than traditional at this time. I'm still working in sketchbooks away from here but none of it will be of "Deviation Standard" as they're just small visual journals I'll be using to generate ideas which could help me with future work.

The "Bring your vision to life" contest I have entered has been under a bit of discussion lately between me and a few other participants. The rules state "No watermarks" but surely the one provided by DeviantART would be ok? Apparently not. Contacting the Admins told us that NO WATERMARKS were to be used. A bit fishy if you ask me. I doubt they will page through every deviation beforehand to check for rule breakers but I have decided I will not remove my DeviantART watermark untill judging begins. A couple of others have agreed that this would be the best course of action as we wouldn't like our work to be taken now, would we?

Portfolio
I've been recently trying to come up with a solution for my work where I can display it on my site for people to come and view. I know DeviantART IS the perfect place to do this. It's all here, everything I need, but what happeneds if something goes wrong? What happeneds if my account here gets deleted? I would like somewhere else to host some of my best work in a clean and clear format but I've been really struggling with how to set it out, what script (if any) I should use on my site. Nothing seems to work... Back to the drawing board. I wont be focusing on this too much during the next week as I have other things to do but I'll give it a think over as I'm going about my day.

Design Studio
This has been a couple of months in the making but unfortunately to say it hasn't started yet either. I want to create my own website for people to come, share art experience, work together, share tutorials, post links to other art places and the like. It will also be the place where I can be asked to work on a design project for somebody with other designers.

At the moment nothing is final but I'm looking for people who would like to jump on this project with me and help me to get it up and running. So if designing is your thing let me know and we'll see what happeneds next.

<sub>I have quite an important update here if you're following my DeviantART Musicians Mixtape. I have created a new profile to run all this seperately to my main account. I was reading somewhere a group system was in production here on DeviantART but there is no release date and with the competition coming to a close at the end of this month for the mixtape CD cover and the release coming soon I decided to start a new profile anyway.

I have quite a few plans and ideas for it but I'll wait for a while before I reveal the ideas.

So all those interested in the project you can watch the new account if you like, I will also be noting all the current project participants to sign up which I should make compulsory as I'll need to contact them all in one and with my current busy schedule I need something quick and easy.</sub>

Deviations
<sub>I've decided to look at using stock images for manipulations at the moment. I wasn't really a big fan of them to start with but I'm planning to release a music album sometime later this year and have been playing around with concepts for a few days.

I am also entering the competition "Bring Your Vision to Life". If you've seen my designs and like them I'd like to take the oportunity to say that I will be turning these designs into T-Shirts which will go on sale when I get round to doing it. I'll let you all know when they're ready.</sub>

Life
<sub>In this section I'm not here to bore you all with my life story but I thought I'd let you know here how things are going for me. As some of you know I'm getting stressed over my university projects but I've managed to do quite a bit of reasearch and have completed half of my presentation this morning so for once I feel good about it.

This is my last day of holiday! I'm back to work tommorrow and then back to uni on monday so I guess I'll try and have some fun today. I'll probably end up on here all day.

I really want to use this journal post to say sorry to quite a few people on here for not being on all that much this holiday. Hopefuly I'll be back on "full time" in the next week or two. Some personal things have been going on as well as a couple of projects dumpped on us from uni for the holidays. I've tried to get round to most people but I still seem to come on with over a hundred messages every time.

Anyway enough of that. Away from the art side slightly I want to ask for a bit of help. I'm trying to create a networking website for musicians and music fans. I would ask for a few vicims... *ahem* I mean willing participants, to sign up and test out a few things on the site for me and tell me what could be changed. I've been working on the theme and styles and I'm quite happy with what it looks like, for now.

DeviantART Musicians Mixtape Cover Contest

What is the DeviantART Musicians Mixtape?
The DeviantART Musicians Mixtape is a collaborative project by all the musicians here on DeviantART. They are free to submit any of their original music to the project which will be shared with the community. More information can be found here: [link] and updates in my journal.

About The Contest:
The DeviantART Musicians Mixtape needs a CD cover before it can be released. For this competition you are required to produce a CD cover which incorporates both music and the DeviantART community. You must take into account the variety of artists here and that the design should not lean towards a single style of music. The mixtape should have the title “DeviantART Musicians Mixtape” written somewhere on the cover.

This contest will start the day this news is posted and you will have exactly a month to complete and submit your design.

~ Contest ends: 26th April 2009

RULES

~ More than one entry per deviant is allowed but please send all your submissions in one note.

~ There is no size limit on submissions but just like a CD Cover your image must be square.

For this project anyone is welcome to submit tracks and all will be added. All styles are welcome as there is a variety of musicians on DeviantART. To submit your track just send me the download link via note with the artist name and song title and it will be added.

For now the maximum number of tracks I will put on the mixtape is between 25-30 depending on file sizes. If there is not enough space to fit everyone’s music on I will be willing to do a part II for this mixtape.

For my watchers I have a task for you. I am receiving allot of submissions for the mixtape and it will be completed quite soon. I am therefore staring a competition for people to come and design a CD cover for the mixtape. The musicians can join in creating a design as well and there will be no limit on the amount of submissions. All I ask from my watchers is that 5 of you offer to be judges for the CD cover competition. I can’t do it all and really want some help. So if you’re interested in judging then let me know. Also if you’re judging I’m afraid you can’t take part for obvious reasons. Anyway I can’t offer any prizes to the winner or thank you gifts to the judges as this is a community based project but it will mean allot to me if I can get a bit of help on this.

As soon as I have my 5 judges I will post the competition and there will be a month to design the CD cover before judging begins, then after we have our cover I’ll release the mixtape.

Anyway, I'm thinking of creating a competition. I'm not going to start this like my last one saying I don't know what I write, I'm sure it'll come to me as I'm writing.

Firstly I'd like to say my subscription is coming to an end... Just as I've got used to it. Well I have managed 10 months without it so I guess I'll be fine when it goes. I'll have to work hard again to get a new one XD

Next... Hmmm, let's see, Sorry everyone for spamming your deviation inboxes the other day, I really had alot of work to put up. Origionaly I wasn't going to put them up but it was part of my uni work where we were testing computer skills and things but I wanted to show them as even though it was only a few months ago I look back on them and realise I could have done so much better.

Well I've also changed my gallery view, the text links look far neater than the text and image folders. I've added quite a lot of new folders for things I'll be working on in my own time soon and it was making the page look ridiculously long, although I hope that's not a paid feature...

I got a new phone with a 5MP camera which is looking to be way better than my other one. Maybe you can expect some cool photography coming soon, not sure yet, stay tuned.

I guess that's it for now. Last of all on a personal note I've been feeling so tired lately. I know I havn't had a proper sleep for years but I'm just getting so tired now seeing as I'm working 4 days and the other 3 at uni. My subscription is coming to an end, I have about a week left and it's been good while it lasted.

I've been making some CD covers for my music but I wont be putting them up on DeviantART untill I've completed the music for them... which isn't going too good right now... I just feel like giving up with everything. Maybe it's just becuase I don't have much free time anymore, I'm not motivated... or there's nothing left to do it for... I try but nothing seems to work. Oh well.

The snow's melted, I've got a few more pictures of it to put up which I'll do soon.

My internet should be fixed by this wednesday. It wont make much difference though, except hopefuly I'll get my £20 back that I paid this month for no internet, if not they can shove it somewhere, I don't really need it. £20 for internent a month? I can get it for under £10 if I shop around a bit...

I'm back to uni tomorrow... today's my last free day. I can't say I don't want to go back, It'll give me something to do. We're starting something new too so it should be fun. Or at least keep my mind off other things.

I also had a portfolio site which I got stressed with yesterday and have decided to take it down. I'm replacing it with my DeviantART. Well I'm creating folders such as "Banners" and "CD Covers" and "Illustrations" etc.. That way if anyone wants to see what I can produce them I just point them in the right direction without getting stressed over my website coding and everything. It's going to be alot more easier on me.

That's my problem, I love to do so much, but I'm stretching myself too thin. I want to do music, I want to be a good designer, I want to write stories/poems, I want to do this, I want to do that... It's my life I can do what I like... but you got to know your limits and I reckon I'm finding mine. But I'm going to do what I can for as long as I can but if I stop things and let go of them, then you know why.

I guess that's about it, thanks to anyone who's read this far.

One more thing I forgot to add to the part where I was saying I'm going to make more folders for my different "projects". Did you know you can make a maximum of 250 folders in your Deviant gallery? There you go a random fact I found whilst browsing the "help" section earlier about my firefox issue with the DeviantART message page and if I was aloud to post some graffiti I found on one of my trips...

Which leads me on to say, I had this issue with Firefox, IE worked perfectly fine but when I started my browser for the first time and went to the message page the browser crashed, I then told Firefox to restore my tabs and restart. I went onto messages and everything worked fine. I did a few tests and killed off Firefox by means of the "Task Manager" which when activated caused Firefox to believe it was starting again. Therefore caused it to crash on the messages page. After posting for a bit around the forum and the help desk I tried safe mode, dissable all my addons, try one addon at a time (I have about 20ish)... Still nothing worked... About thursday 5th this problem has just stopped and I'm actualy able to save the messages page to my "open at startup" tabs list without it crashing and demanding a restart to get onto the page. Strange that, it only did that to the DeaviantART message page. Like I said, it's stopped now... hopefuly it'll stay that way...

And as far as I know at this point, this is my last bit of information for you... I found graffiti on my trip a while back... last september actualy. I wanted to post it on DeviantART just to show people but I thought it would break some rules as it wasn't mine. I contacted the help desk and recieved this reply:

"As long as the photo contains some surroundings in it (such as the buildings, people, trees, etc.) to show that the image is not JUST of the graffiti it'll be fine as long as the original owner does not make a complaint. Please submit your photos to a photography category rather than the graffiti category, which is saved for those who have actually done it themselves."

Well I know if I follow these rules I wont be banned but I'm still a bit weary so I havn't posted anything. I only have two which show surrounding buildings as I got in close to take pictures. I'm still doubtful.

Anyway that's it, if I think up anything else it will go in the next journal. If I get time the next one will be tomorrow after university if I have any idea of our next project and what you can expect to see soon

Here we go:

- I've uploaded all of my animal project pictures, ok there might be a few more to come that I did last minute but the majority is up there already so take and look and let me know what you think.

- I've also added a category called "Photography". Photography is not my thing but I've discovered quite alot of pictures on my computer and phone that I've taken over the past year or so and have decided to show some of the better ones so this is going to be a random photography folder.

- Last of all I've dedicated the "other" folder to DeviantART Competitions so check there for my latest entries.

Anyway hope you're all having a good new year so far and that you've at least tried to keep your new years resolutions. Congrats to those who have and to those who havn't... there's always next year XD

It's probably going to take me a month to figure out how to use all the new stuff XD

Anyway, all my uni work has to be in next week, that's why I havn't really been on in the past few days and why I shouldn't really be on now but I thought I'd let you know that I have loads of animal drawings on the way so after I hand in my final assignment I will be posting them all... Then I will go and play a well deserved game, I havn't played any of my games on my computer for ages! I work too much!

So that's about it, still I'm going to try and get to the bottom of this and find out who gave me a subscription... The deserve a big hug!

Yes

-Do you read any kind of poetry?
I did back in school for exams years ago but not anymore, unless you count poetry from friends on DeviantART
-If so, who are your favourites poets?
N/A
-What made you start writing poetry in the first place?
Getting out things I feel inside and finding it easier to translate feelings into poems more than words.
-Would you rather write a poem by hand or type it down?
Either, I take a notepad with me and when I feel the urge I write them down, then change them a bit, when I type them I usualy do it straight from my head with little thought between my brain and hand.

-Do you believe that writing poetry is only for an elite or can anyone do it?
Anyone can do it if they put their mind to it but it takes some practice to make good poetry.
-Is technical knowledge necessary to write poetry?
Not really, poems can be really basic with little thought, or you could have vast amounts of knowlage that would produce good pieces also.
-Do you see yourself as a Poet, or as someone who writes poetry from time to time?
Yes
-How do you deal with writer's block?
Take part in an emotionaly challenging event, feelings stir my poetic side.
-Have you ever had a bad critic? How did you react to it?
Yes, I listen to what they have to say, most of the time I agree with them as well, but I'm not changing anything for anyone, I'd just do another but remember what I did wrong the last time.
-Would you say that some people are more qualified to criticize your work than others?
No, it all depends on the person reading it, while loads of "unknowns" may love your work an official poet might not, and vice versa.
-Which is more important: powerful imagery or clear message?
None, it all depends what you're trying to achive in your own work.
-Do you write for youself?
Yes
-Do you think that a very defined style can go against substance, making the poem too encriptic to be understood?
Yes
-Is poetical prose superior to Poetry?
No
-Are there any living poets you admire?
I don't really read poetry from "famous" poets.

The Little Boy Part III

Alone in a room padded and bare,
The boy woke up, put his fingers in his hair,
He noticed he was chained to a metal rack,
and as he layed there, his memories came back,

They came for him in the dead of night,
Rescue crews found him, the house set alight,
People lined the streets to see what had happened,
when men pulled out bodies, broken and blackened,
The smoke rose high and the wind blew cold,
"Go back to your homes" The on lookers were told,
"There's nothing to see go back to your beds",
But they knew something was wrong, the house was dead,
On the way to the hospital everything was silent,
"What could have caused this, some kind of riot?",
Still in mystery nobody knew,
What happened that night, what the boy had been through,

He tried to sit up but he was strapped at the waist,
There were cuts on his body and blood he could taste,
"What have they done to me I need to get out"
"Let me out assholes!" He began to shout,
Pulling the chains trying to break free,
He pulled a little too hard and broke his knee,
Roaring in pain he began to cry,
knowing now he was probably going to die,

Let me know if I should continue this, the majority of "yes" or "no" will rule my decision.

Well I'm back doing my things now. I did start a while ago but came down with a very big illness!

But I'm feeling much better than I was and I've posted a couple of my uni pictures and few more poems and odds and ends I've done.

You can expect to see a few more uni pictures up soon and maybe a poem or two. I feel slightly inspired after being ill for so long. Makes you think how much you do stuff everyday when you can't do it anymore...

Lastly part of one of our uni modules involves "self directed study"... seeing as I havn't really started my 100 Art challenge ( yes don't kill me! ) I'm going to see if I can do that and hopefuly develop some more skills along the way... And the project has to be in before we break up for christmas break... wahey! That means I have to do more than one a day! I guess I will get it done sometime this year XD

Hopefuly I can use it as part of my project, if not I'm screwed... I have no other ideas *cries*

Earlier today I started *trying* to draw some anime but it never came out right so I've given up on that idea. On the other hand I've decided to go ahead with it anyway and instead of drawing anime for the challenge I would draw animals. I havn't drawn animals for ages like I used to, I used to do at least one a day if not more depending on how much time I had but I went away for a month in the holidays and couldn't draw there. When I got home I just lost all hope of drawing and now I'm on my art course at uni drawing's going to be one of the main areas of the course.

So I've had this inspiration to try this challenge and push myself to draw more and ultimately get better at drawing. Who knows I could also use some of them in my work seeing as there's a "self directed project" in the course breif.
